Young People

If you are a young person in Brent you have access to a range of services that will provide you with free, confidential and non judgmental advice and support to help you make the most informed decisions about your sexual health.

Advice is available from contraceptive services (for men too!), sexual health clinics, your GP and nurse, and from selected pharmacists.

Evolve: Is a newly commissioned Health and Wellbeing Service for residents of Brent who are under 25, commissioned by Brent Council.  This service, provided jointly between Young Addaction and SHoC offers advice, support and early intervention to young people about drug use, sexual health, and general wellbeing.  To contact this service call 07795 302 966.

Whether you are at school, college, university or work we have plenty of information that will help you make the right decision.

Each service is run highly trained professionals who will treat your questions and concerns seriously and in confidence.

Everything you say to your local doctor, pharmacist or sexual health professional is confidential, which means only you and the health professional will know about your circumstances.

Even if you are under 16, your parents or carers will not be told.

Only if the person you see thinks you are in serious danger may they feel there is a need to pass information on. However, they will not do this before speaking to you first.

If you are under 13, health professionals may have other questions about your sexual activity because of your age. They will be able to provide you with relevant support to help you.

Sometimes, health professionals will seek extra help from a social worker for young people to help protect their health and saftey. However, the health professional will discuss this with you before they do this.

If the professional you see is worried about your safety, they will talk to you about this.
